Do you enjoy writing and want to improve your literary skills? The Pulp might just be the club for you.

Each meeting consists of anything from writing to learning the process of editing to a myriad of other activities.

“Sometimes we are just getting together to write,” sponsor and language arts teacher Tracy Gladden said.

The Pulp publication is Lafayette’s literary magazine that consists of a compilation of stories and poems that are self-submitted. The submissions vary in length and subject matter. Most submissions are by Gladden’s Creative Writing students, but any submissions are welcome. The Pulp comes out annually at the end of April.

“You just take story or a poem you wrote over the semester and you make it pretty; you do a font and some background on it,” senior Zoe Scala said.

Meetings are on Wednesdays in Room 92 and announcements on Monday through Wednesday will precede the meeting.

“I think writing is important and a lot of times students have few opportunities to learn that writing is more than a transition word and a concrete detail. . It is so much more than that,” Gladden said.
