Whether you want some background music while studying, or you are bored with your current music and want to find something new, internet radios and music players offer a large variety of music to listen to. Though Pandora is one of the most popular to use, there are some other players out there that are more convenient and have extra features.
By far the most similar to Pandora, Grooveshark offers some advantages for choosing it over Pandora. Though most users start listening to a playlist, they are able to add and delete songs from that playlist to make something completely custom for them. Grooveshark also shows users upcoming songs, instead of hiding titles until the song begins playing.
This music player has several extra features. Though the player needs to be downloaded to be used, it incorporates your current iTunes library so you can listen to your own music as well as other playlists and albums.
Personally, Songza is my favorite music player. Songza has created an abundance of playlists made by themselves and other users for any type of mood, genre or activity. It also recommends these playlists based on the time of day, so you can easily find study music during the afternoon, and partying music for late nights.
8tracks is similar to Songza with its handcrafted playlists, but relies solely on user-made playlists instead. Though their popular playlists give you a chance to explore new interesting music, its actual music player has some issues that make it hard to use. If you can get past this issue, 8tracks offers the best chance to listen to the most unique music of all the players.
Last.fm is the most similar to spotify because it also needs to be downloaded to a computer to be used fully. Not only does it allow you to make your own playlists to combine with your personal music library, Last.fm also uses your library to give recommendations for other artists and songs to listen to.
