For most people, doodling in class is a way to pass the time. Junior Luke Bradley goes above and beyond doodles with sketching skills.
Bradley said he started sketching in middle school as a hobby when his friends began to draw.
“We always had competition between us, so they always made me better,” Bradley said.
After learning from his friends, Bradley realized he had a talent in art.
“I’ve gotten a lot better, I can capture objects much more in-depth and detailed, make them look realistic,” he said.
Bradley continued to grow his skills by taking multiple art classes, and he plans to continue learning in the future.
He said, “I want to take AP Art Studio as a senior, I feel like I can get a lot better in there.”
Today, Bradley plans to continue drawing as a hobby, but still uses his skills practically.
“I want to do engineering and drafting is a big part of that, being able to draw really helps,” he said. “Sometimes people struggle with it, I’ll help them out, show them how to make everything in proportion and things like that.”
Though he doesn’t think he’ll make a career out of his hobby, Bradley plans to continue drawing in the future.
“I’ve been doing it for a while and really enjoy it, it’s a fun hobby,” Bradley said.
