For her monthly book club, language arts teacher Dawn Indelicato-Faw read The Help by Katheryn Stockett.
“It’s about a woman in the 60s who comes back home to Mississippi striving to be a writer,” Indelicato-Faw explained.
This book particularly interested her because of the strong female characters complicated with volatile racial tensions.
The main character puts together a collection of African American stories which causes distress within the southern town.
Indelicato-Faw found the book a “page turner,” but what made it especially unique said was the point of view of the story.
“Every chapter is from a different character’s perspective,” she said.
Her favorite part of the book was when one of the sassier characters reveals a scandalous secret.
Indelicato-Faw refused to give away the best part but shared, “it’s so wrong, but so awesome!”
