Four fridays out of every year there is a lunch on the shelf dedicated to seniors. Friday, Feb. 5, was a day full of beans, slaw and barbeque.
Co-director for Lunch on the Shelf, Susan Buttram says that it is hard work planning these events, even if there are only four of them.
“First, we have to contact a caterer. This time it was Smokin’ Daves Barbeque. Then we have to find a date that works and get students to sign up to come,” Buttram said.
Nina C0llier, co-director, has a blast helping with the lunch as well.
“In addition to lunch, we provide a lovely table decoration, musical environment and fellowship and friends,” Collier said.
“It [Lunch on the Shelf] has been really fun and it is a senior’s only memory even,” Buttram added.

[Families] actually having the opportunity to have their kids on the field with us is the most important aspect,” Ben Lundt said.](https://lancerfeed.press/wp-content/uploads/2026/05/IMG_6823-1200x800.jpg)
