All-school assembly to address driver safety
Clay Komor and Jacob Ward
An all-school assembly will be held March 29, to educate students about the importance of driver safety.
The assembly is a 45-minute presentation from firefighters and paramedics. They will explain the effects of a serious car crash both during and after.
Once the assembly ends, driver education and health classes will participate in a simulation activity called the Save a Life Tour. They will also do other safe driving activities alongside this simulation.
The East-West Gateway Council of Governments and the Missouri Departments of Transportation selected 10 high schools total to have this assembly. Their purpose is to emphasize safe drivings importance as drivers age 16-19 are more likely to be in a fatal crash.
