LHS Orchestra Festival allows orchestra students to improve their abilities
Orchestra students will take part in the first ever LHS Orchestra Festival this Saturday, Nov. 4.
“The Orchestra Festival is an opportunity for all of the orchestra students to experience playing in a small, chamber ensemble,” Orchestra Director Steve Patton said.
Students can also choose to perform as a soloist. Each ensemble or soloist will perform for a judge.
“After their performance, the judge will give a brief coaching to the performers. The coaching will give students feedback on their performance and help each performer improve their playing skills,” Patton said.
The festival will be in the fine arts wing of Lafayette. Performances will be held in the band room, choir room and guitar room. The orchestra room will be used as a place to warm up.
“We are very grateful to the rest of the music staff for the use of their rooms,” Patton said.
Performances are from 9 a.m. – 2 p.m.
