Lafayette high school is hosting their ninth annual Cheer for Charity event for the Ronald McDonald House Charities, an organization that provides housing and other necessities for underprivileged families and youths.

Lafayette’s own cheerleading team and Escadrille team will be performing along with other performing teams across the District. The event begins Sunday, Nov 12. at 1:00 pm.

Admissions are household items from the following list: Dishwashing soap, Dishwasher detergent, large Tupperware containers, Ziploc bags, paper bowls, Windex, Disinfectant sprays, multipurpose cleaner, Swiffer hand duster sheet, travel-sized toiletries, individually wrapped snacks, disposable razors, individually packaged toothbrushes and iPhones (new or used). A minimum donation of five dollars will also qualify for admission.

Many staff members are happy to get involved, as well including junior Varsity cheer Coach April Earhardt.

“It’s really important for the cheerleaders, dancers and all the schools to come together for this cause. All the cheer-leading and escadrille teams for the Rockwood school district are getting involved,” Earhardt said.

Many people in the community, including surrounding dance studios, are joining the cause.
