Lafayette wins two straight after dominating victory over Lindbergh
Lafayette improves to 3-2 after win against Lindbergh
September 25, 2015
For the second week in a row, the Lancers have come out on top after a convincing win over the Lindbergh Flyers after a previous victory over the Mustangs.
The Lancers controlled both sides of the ball throughout most of the game; the score at the end of the first quarter was 7-0 in favor of the Lancers courtesy of a Tanner Grimm, senior, touchdown run.
The Lancers didn’t let up though, with the score at the end of the half being 21-0 courtesy of another Tanner Grimm touchdown run and a Collin Paul, senior, touchdown reception.
By the end of the third quarter the Lancers had piled on two more scores, one of those being a receiving touchdown from Matt Welby, senior, and the other being a touchdown run from Tanner Grimm (for his third of the night and second straight week of three touchdowns.)
Although the Lancers did not score in the final quarter, they only allowed one touchdown with the kick failing which would set the final score at 35-6, for the Lancers widest win margin of the year. This game also marked the debut of Lafayette’s new turf field.
The Lancers will look to continue their winning streak with their next game against the Oakville Tigers Sept. 25 at 7 p.m..
