Lafayette alum hosts local music showcase at Sky Music Lounge
From L to R: Seniors Shayne Hayes and Bobby Boxermanof The Moment
On Thursday, Sept. 5, John Ray, Class of 2013 owner of Almost Records, hosted the St. Louis Music Showcase at the Sky Music Lounge.
The bands that played included Alt Road, The Moment, Show Some Teeth and Perfect Disaster. Alt Road consists of juniors Dillon Furlow, Brianna Marsh, Nathan Stalter and sophomores Nicholas Stalter and Drake Vogl from Eureka High School. LHS seniors Shayne Hayes and Bobby Boxerman are both in The Moment.
“There is definitely local talent out there. It’s just a matter of bringing that out,” Ray said about his event.
Ray set up the showcase in order to see if he would sign any of them to Almost Records. He was also in Chicago to search for more local talent. Ray has been a part of the music industry for almost one year and has been involved in music for most of his school years.
Even without being signed to a label, these types of showcases promote the real talent that students have in the Rockwood School District by having other students come to support their friends or even mutual friends.

[Families] actually having the opportunity to have their kids on the field with us is the most important aspect,” Ben Lundt said.](https://lancerfeed.press/wp-content/uploads/2026/05/IMG_6823-1200x800.jpg)
