Coffee House to showcase students’ acoustic abilities
Lafayette students will display their talents tonight, Nov. 6, at Coffee House.
Coffee House is a variety show in which students perform an assortment of acts, including singing, dancing and poetry reading.
Tracy Gladden, language arts teacher, sponsors the event.
“We have 15 performers this year. Every single year I do this, the talent blows me away,” Gladden said.
Gladden is most looking forward to viewing students’ artwork.
“Some of the artists are displaying their art at tables, so I’m really interested in seeing that,” she said.
Senior Brooke Bonderer is one of the performers this year. She is an acoustic singer, and this is her fourth year being involved in the event.
“It is very laid back. Parents and friends come and drink coffee, and a lot of the music is very relaxed and acoustic,” she said.
Bonderer is performing her own rendition of the song “Feeling Good” by Michael Bublé
“I have someone playing the piano for me while I sing. I switched the song up and made it original,” she said.
The event will be held in the Commons and starts at 7 p.m. Admission is $5.
“It’s cool because people you don’t expect to audition and perform end up doing it. This school has so much talent,” Bonderer said.
