During their senior night, halfway through the fourth quarter, Lafayette senior Taylor Nania drove down the court before passing the ball off to sophomore Lylah Kimberlin, who found sophomore Maria Golfo in the corner who took a three-point shot.
The ball sailed into the net making the score 31-30, to begin a dominant lead that the Lancers carried to their victory over Parkway Central, 40-33, Friday.

The Lancer lead comes as a surprise after Parkway Central began the game with an intimidating 16-0 lead in the first half. Despite this, Lafayette scored 31 points and allowed just 14 to gain the lead back in the fourth quarter.
After prevailing over Parkway West, the Lancers record stands at 7-6. The girls will travel to play in the Frontenac, Kansas Tournament this weekend.

Senior Drew Austerman scored 15 points during the Lafayette basketball senior night to help the Lancers win over Parkway West, 60-42, Jan 17.
Lafayette (8-7) maintained control throughout the entire game, never trailing Parkway West (5-8) after the first quarter. By halftime the Lancers led 33-15.
The second half was much closer, but Parkway West was unable to comeback, with both teams putting up 27 points in the second half.
This win helped Lafayette bounce back from a tough 59-45 loss to Liberty, just a day prior.
The Lancers have seen improvement under first year head coach Dan Kreienkamp, as last season the team only had 11 wins. Their next game will be against Lindbergh, Jan. 31.
