Shortly after winter break, Rockwood called off four out of five school days in one week. According to Chief Communications Officer Mary LaPak, the district has three remaining snow days allotted for this school year.

Lafayette skaters embrace after junior forward Addison Long’s goal. This was Long’s second goal of the night that propelled the Lancers to their 6-3 win, Friday.

Skating from the defensive zone, junior forward Addison Long made a top-right-corner shot to extend Lafayette’s lead to 4-0 over Lindbergh with 2 minutes left in the second period. Long, senior forward Mack Freeman and freshman forward Lucas Ross, each scored two goals Friday night, to lift the Lancers over the Flyers on senior night, 6-3.

Lafayette (13-5) began their lead over Lindbergh (10-8) in the first period with a goal scored by both Freeman and Ross.

After a successful face-off from sophomore forward Aaron Keller, Long scored her first goal in the second period. Minutes later, Long scored her second goal of the night to give Lafayette a dominant lead, 4-0.

Lindbergh stepped up their game in the 3rd period by exchanging goals with Lafayette and ending the game, 6-3, to give Lafayette their last win before the post-season. 

Lafayette is the fourth seed in the Wickenheiser Cup and their next game has yet to be determined.
