While most high schools in the district ask phones be put away completely for the entirety of class, Lafayette is the only school that allows teachers to decide the expectations in their own classroom.

Against Parkway West, junior short stop Riley Mulligan makes a play. Mulligan helped the Lancers win State after hitting a walk-off homerun. "I've been able to grow at the plate quite a bit, and I was able to step up big at the plate," Mulligan said.

The Lancers make a dramatic comeback against Oakville

Sophomore forward Aaron Keller goes 1 on 1 with an Oakville defender. Keller scored one of the goals in Lafayette’s 6-6 tie to the Tigers on Nov. 22.

Senior forward Alem Garibovic scored the game-tying goal for Lafayette after trailing for most of the game in a 6-6 draw to Oakville on Friday, Nov. 22 at Maryville University Hockey Center.

Garibovic’s goal was the final one of the game and tied the game again after Oakville’s supposed winner. The forward scored his goal during a scramble at the Tigers’ crease which allowed him to take advantage of the chaos. Garibovic was one of six different goal scorers that night for the Lancers. 

Oakville started off strong and scored four of their goals in the first period to create a 4-0 deficit for Lafayette. However, through the second and third periods, the Lancers were able to comeback from a devastating start.

Following the draw to Tigers, the Lancers remain in 3rd place in the Suburban rankings with a new record of (3-2-1). Lafayette will take on Seckman (2-4) away at Kennedy Recreation Complex on Nov. 25 at 7pm.
