Senior goalkeeper Beck Henderson kept a clean sheet against Parkway South, to help the Lafayette boys soccer team win, 3-0, in the District quarterfinals, at Chaminade college preparatory school.
In a close first half, Lafayette senior goalkeeper Beck Henderson made several saves to keep the game level. The turning point came just before halftime, when the Lancers were awarded a free kick, right outside the box. Senior center midfielder Sam Kalish converted to give Lafayette a 1-0 lead at halftime.
The second half was a tight affair, with both teams struggling to create clear opportunities for points. However, senior forward Landen Peroutka broke through with a goal 13 minutes before the final whistle and added another in the closing minutes to seal the win at 3-0.
The Lancers will now advance to the District semifinals, where they will face CBC on Nov. 7 at Chaminade.
