After a tough loss in the semi-finals of last year’s State playoffs, the girls field hockey team started the 2017 season off strong. Their current record is 8-0-2.

Senior Meghan Conroy thinks the rest of the season is going to be full of opportunities.

“I expect for our team to work hard as a unit, and I hope we have a successful season,” Conroy said. “I believe this year it is any school’s chance to do well.”

Despite losing in the last seconds of the State semi-final game last year, the girls field hockey team plans to maintain an attitude similar to last season.

“Last season we gave full effort and positive attitudes on the field, and I hope that continues this year to have a fun and victorious season,” Conroy said.

The girls field hockey team placed first in their pool at the Gateway Classic tournament with a 2-1 victory over Nerinx Hall. Their next game is Sept. 18 at 4:15 p.m. at Villa Duchesne.
