Battle of the British Isles: Twining’s English Breakfast tea vs. Irish Breakfast tea

As an avid tea and caffeine lover, I can safely say that I know a bit about teas.

My personal favorite would be the full-bodied flavor of black tea. One famous black tea is the English/British Breakfast tea. It’s a lovely tea and a traditional Black tea, but it’s not nearly as good the Irish Breakfast.

I tried both from the Twining’s brand and found that Irish Breakfast tea had a thicker, heavier and richer flavor. English Breakfast is quite light, being airy and having notes of citrus in it.

I feel like the English Breakfast tea is good, but it certainly isn’t great. I find it to be drab and basic. I understand that not everyone likes a heavy tea flavor but if you don’t like then why are you drinking black tea? If you insist on black tea, I suggest Lady Grey; it’s light and citrus but weak enough to resemble muddy water.

If you’re like me and prefer a hot, strong cup of coffee in the morning, but can’t take the caffeine or acid in most coffees, Irish Breakfast is a much better alternative. It’s still strong in flavor and caffeine count, but it doesn’t come with the jitters or heart palpitations.
