Class officers are vital for the student body to run effectively. They are especially imperative for their job of delivering the students’ diverse opinions to the administrators and staff. Without them, there would be an absence of this essential communication.

The sophomore and junior students vote for class officers in the spring to begin serving the following year. However, Freshman Class elections take place in the beginning of the school year.

On Sept. 1, the Class of 2021 held its election to select officers for the 2017-2018 school year. There were three nominees for president, vice president and treasurer and was one nominee for secretary .

In total, 226 freshmen participated in the election which was conducted through an online vote.

The election resulted in the selection of  Julia Manning, president, Michelle Kim, vice president, Aisha Analil, secretary and Poojaj Hukeri, treasurer.

“My goal as a president is to listen to my classmates and to collaborate with them. I am very excited for this year!” Manning said.
