Out and About: Which-Wich offers one-of-a-kind sandwich experience
I’ll admit, I was wary when my friend convinced me to go with her during their opening week. I’m a Subway and Jimmy John’s die-hard and I just didn’t think I could handle a new sub experience.
Boy, was I wrong.
I have never been to anything like Which-Wich. Their sandwich making process is definitely unique and definitely delicious.
Step One: PYOB (Pick Your Own Bag)
Which-Wich has a main menu board listing all their meats hanging at the side of the store. You find the meat you want and then pick the corresponding bag number. For example, I like their turkey so I would choose bag #1.
Step 2: Sharpie That Thing Up
Grab their signature red sharpie and fill in the bubbles. Mark the bread type, size, hot or cold, sauces, veggies, toppings, seasonings and cheese. There are so many options that I guarantee your bag will be marked-up to the max.
Step 3: Write Your Name
Write your name, nickname or anything else you want to be called when your order is ready. (Nothing inappropriate please, this is a family friendly place and they will be yelling what you wrote out loud)
Step 4: Turn It In
At the end of the line, you will hand your bag to the cashier and they will ring up your order. Here, you can also get drinks, chips(I recommend their homemade chips, yum) or homemade milkshakes (I did not have the pleasure of purchasing one, but they look delish).
The bag is hanged on a close line where it is passed down as the sandwich is created until it reaches the end. The completed sandwich is then placed into your customized bag and given to you! So cool, right?
I absolutely love it, and totally recommend it if your want to stray from your normal sandwich shop. But be warned, once you get a taste, other sandwiches won’t compare.
I think it is safe to say that Which-Wich is coming in to take over West County.
The nearest Which-Wich is located at 1762 Clarkson Rd (Past Marquette High School next to Noodles and Co.).
