Freshman Taylor Beidler has a passion for acting. She also has the talent to match.
Taylor performed in her first show when she was only 4-years-old, but took a long hiatus until 7th grade and has acted ever since.
This year was very big for Taylor; she began acting professionally for the very first time. Theater teacher Natasha Toro was performing in Stray Dog Theater’s production of Into the Woods and had the task of choosing two teenage girls to make cameo appearances. Toro chose Beidler and another student, senior Jessica Cohen.
“This gave me the courage to step up and try out for more shows,” Beidler said.
Such shows include another Stray Dog production, The Effect of Gamma Rays on Man-in-the-Moon Marigolds. Biedler played the nefarious role of Janice Vickery.
At Lafayette, Beidler was an understudy in Noises Off! and had a lead role in a one act.
This summer, Beidler will be performing in a production of Anne of Green Gables at Clayton Community Theater. She will be playing the role of Josie.
When asked about the character, Beidler said “She try’s so hard to fit in and it never works out for. I honestly like playing mean characters.”
The show will performed June 4-13 at Washington University.
Beidler is moving to Boston at the end of the summer but definitely plans on continuing acting.
