Cross country looks strong as they run their way towards a state championship.

In their first contest of the year, the Fleet Feet Cross Country Kickoff South, the Lancers finished in a very respectable second only finishing behind Nerinx Hall High School. The Lancers top performer was Julia Romero, senior, who finished fourth overall.

In the next meet, the Brooks Memphis Twilight Classic, the Lancers edged out the next best team who had a score of 68 with a score of 63 (the lower score wins in cross country). The Lancers were led by Sarah Nicholson and Anna West, seniors, who finished second and first respectively.

After placing fifth out of seven in the Stan Nelson invitational, the Lancers rebounded with another first place victory at the Forest Park Cross Country Festival with the path paved by Anna West, who finished second overall. The Lancers followed up with two more straight first place victories at the Parkway Central Invitational and the Hancock Invitational. In the Hancock Invitational, the Lancers had a dominating victory with a score of 26 while the next best had a score of 52.

In their most recent contest at the Parkway West Invitational, despite a first overall placing by Sarah Nicholson, the Lancers as a team only managed to place seventh out of 14.

With two more meets before Districts, the Lady Lancers Cross Country team looks to be well prepared to move on towards a state championship.
