After a tough loss against last years Conference champion Eureka Wildcats on August 29th, the Lancers once again fell just short. The number three ranked team in the State, Hazelwood Central, outperformed the Lancers and came out on top 35-21.

Starting out well, the Lancers moved the ball down the field well in their first possession. Lafayette scored first, but Hazelwood Central rallied back in full dominance. The team has shown that they have the potential to perform, demonstrating flashes of brilliance.

Assistant coach Rick Voss said, “We had moments where we performed very well. Our first offensive series our offensive took the ball 80 yards and scored. We’ve shown flashes of being very good. we just need to improve our consistency.”

Voss continued, “We’ve shown flashes of being very good, we just need to improve our consistency. We need to execute better, and play hard and smart for 60 minutes.”

The only thing the team can do is improve their football IQ and continue to play hard each opportunity they get.
