The Lafayette Cookie Stand is making bold moves this year.

The stand has always offered chocolate chip cookies, but this year they are expanding their horizons. Brand new cookie flavors including the double-fudge chocolate cookies are now available along with the introduction of the Cookie Stand slushies. Students and teachers have been flocking to get a hold of these sweet treats considering all of these new items are maintaining the low price of one dollar per cookie or slushie.

Matt Landwehr, business teacher and Renaissance sponsor, who has been selling these new treats has only positive thoughts about them.

“We have been getting a lot business with these slushies. I think they are great and the kids seem to love them,” he said.

Along with new food options, the cookie stand is also embracing social media. Giveaways are being held on Twitter for Lafayette students. If students follow the cookie stand account (@LHSCookieStand) they are immediately eligible to win free snacks and other prizes. With all these new changes, the cookie stand is still open during all three lunch periods and is run by students.
