Only nine seconds into the first quarter of the senior night football game, senior quarterback Brady Micek throws a long pass to senior wide receiver Tim Washington who runs it to the endzone to open the scoring, 7-0.
This was the first of many touchdowns in just the first half for Lafayette, as they overpowered Lindbergh, 54-14, on Friday, Oct. 17.

The game got off to a hot start as senior wide receivers Terance Bills and Tim Washington both found the endzone in the first quarter. Bills and Washington each had two touchdowns in the first half, contributing to Lafayette’s large lead against Lindbergh.
“[The team’s goal was] to execute. We tried to make it to where we had no pre-snap penalties, but unfortunately, that didn’t happen,” Washington said.

Gaining a lead this early into the game didn’t stop the Lancers from celebrating in the endzone. Lafayette accumulated numerous unsportsmanlike conduct penalties, earning yardage penalties on the next play as a consequence.
“[We need to] clean up the penalties, clean up our own mistakes and continue to try to get better,” Coach Curt Mueller said.
Heading into the matchup against Lindbergh, Lafayette was unscored upon at home this season and looked to retain this stat. However, Lafayette was unable to continue the streak after allowing two Lindbergh touchdowns.
