It’s been a standout season for the varsity wrestling squad.

After recently placing 3rd at the Capital City Invite Tournament, the team has been riding a momentum train of high quality performance.

While performing admirably at the tournament level, the squad has mainly shined in Duals, where they currently remain undefeated.

Junior Alex Wier believes that the hard work done in practice every week has lead to the team’s success, and will pave the way for their performance moving forward.

“If practice has taught us anything, we haven’t even hit our peak yet.” he said.

As far as individuals effort goes, the Lancers have failed to disappoint.

“Guys like [Juniors] Tim Bogar, Chase Behrndt, and Brendan McKenna have all made huge contributions to the team.” Wier said

The squad will travel to Kansas City for the Winnetonka Tournament this upcoming weekend.

Wier believes the team has the ability to place well, given their previous results.

“Realistically, we can cause some serious damage this weekend.” he said.
