For the last dual meet of the season, Lafayette ended on a right note. With a strong lineup, the team defeated the Lindbergh Flyers 64-9, allowing Lafayette to advance as Suburban West champions.
Notable matches included junior Kyle Black’s, who pinned his opponent in a mere 17 seconds with a swift cradle move.
“In a dual, it’s kind of disappointing that I couldn’t get a more challenging match. Then my whole night of wrestling is over in like 20 seconds,” Black said.
Another impressive match was that of sophomore Khahyil Moore, who wrestled in place of senior Teddy Federer. With 0:51 seconds left in the 2nd period, Moore pinned his opponent, proving he is an asset to the team.
This victory maintained Lafayette’s undefeated record in dual meets this season.
“We knew we were going to have one of the strongest teams in the state this season with seven returning qualifiers,” Black added.
