Justin Timberlake fails to disappoint, despite postponement

On Nov. 19, Justin Timberlake brought his 20/20 Experience to the Scottrade Center in St. Louis.

First of all, the concert didn’t start until an hour after it was supposed to. There was not a sound or lighting problem from what I could tell, and there was no opening act to slow the concert down. Personally, I don’t care who I’m going to see; I want the artist to be on time.

During this hour and a half wait, I didn’t see any ushers leading attendees to their seats. Seats were getting mixed up and people were moving around and searching for their seats desperately before the concert.

However, once Justin Timberlake took the stage, none of it really mattered. Timberlake has come a long way since his NSYNC days, but surprisingly, you can’t tell that he’s aged at all.

Throughout the concert, Timberlake moved with the dancers, ran around the stage and had an energy that filled the entire arena.

He sang 13 songs before an intermission. Even then, the intermission was only 10 minutes. He came back and was supposed to sing another 12 songs before his second intermission, but due to the tardiness of the concert, Timberlake skipped it and went on to sing his last six songs.

Timberlake sang both his songs and covers of artists like Elvis Presley and Michael Jackson. He also played the piano and guitar during a few of his songs.

Despite being so high up and far away from Timberlake, I felt very up close and personal. The concert seemed intimate, I could hear the songs over the screaming women, and I could see due to the way Scottrade Center’s seats were set up.

One of the best moments of the concert was when the horizontal runway moved from one end of the stadium to the other. Timberlake performed on the runway while it moved and sang a couple songs closer to those far away from the permanent stage.

Overall, Justin Timberlake is an amazing performer and artist, and I was most definitely entertained.
