Following the roots of STEM
Lafayette’s STEM (science, technology, engineering and math) night is an informational meeting on the program; it’s open to all grade levels and has free admittance.
Lafayette’s STEM night covers: LHS robotics, Project Interface, Young Scientist Program, HOSA (Future health professionals organization) and Rockwood’s STEM program. The night will showcase the importance of STEM and internships/opportunities for future careers in STEM. Careers in the field are in high demand and the program acts as a stepping stone for more opportunities in a student’s future.
“It’s kind of like the taste of St. Louis; we invited colleges to come and set up tables to tell about their programs. We want to show students that there is more for them to do and they can do it with their community in hopes they may join the programs or clubs offered to them,” said Cristina Marasigan, sponsor.
