Cookie Stand raises money for Lawrence Strawbridge Foundation
On April 7, the LHS Cookie Stand will hold their second annual Cookies for a Cause. The Cookie Stand will donate all proceeds from the cookies and slushies sold on that day to the Lawrence Strawbridge Foundation. They will also be accepting donations that will directly go to the foundation. Strawbridge would’ve been turning 17 on April 8, so the Cookie Stand wanted to do this in honor of his birthday.
Strawbridge was a student who attended LHS that passed away near the end of last summer. The goal of the foundation is to provide scholarships and help the students in the VIC program, during and after high school.
“We all miss Lawrence every day and we can support his legacy at Lafayette through his foundation,” Matthew Landwehr, the business teacher who over sees the Cookie Stand, said.
Last year, the Cookie Stand raised over 1,000 dollars for Operation BALD, a charity that help raise money for cancer patients and research.
