On April 24, all juniors will take the district-wide ACT during school hours.
Assistant Principal Matt Dieckhaus explained how important it was for all Rockwood students to take the ACT.
“We wanted to be able to collect data for 100 percent of our students. Before Lafayette only had data on 85 percent, and we wanted to see all students’ data to find any gaps or problems,” he said.
Dieckhaus added that though the school’s curriculum prepares students for the test, “Students can go to the next level by studying ACT prep online or with booklets.”
Because the junior class will be taking the ACT, all other grade levels will not have class.
The Senior Class will take a field trip to the Zoo, the Sophomore Class will have a career fair and the Freshman Class will be involved in the activities through the National Council on Alcoholism & Drug Abuse ( NCADA ).
Homeroom assignments are currently posted for freshmen, sophomore and junior students.
