After a summer at Camp Lakewood in 2008, sophomore Maddie Bowman discovered a unique passion: archery.
She took a clinic offered at the camp and said, “I fell in love with archery the first day. It’s a really unique sport.
For the past two years she has been attending various clinics and ranges such as South County Archers, and reattending Camp Lakewood.
“You can go to multipule one’s for certain degree’s of training, hunting, or just plain shooting for fun,” Bowman said.
When she is not perfecting her skills, she uses archery as a way to bond.
“If you honestly don’t get into it competitively you can just have fun with some friends,” she said.
When school has brought too much stress, Bowman uses archery as her outlet to have some fun.
“It has given me so many great memories,” Bowman said.
When asked if she thinks it is a good sport for people, Bowman said, “I would most deffinitely recomend this sport to everyone!”
