Lafayette begins school on Aug. 23; however, the preparations for the start of school begin in the third week of August.

On Aug. 17, the school will be open for material returns from the 2020-2021 school year. Any library or classroom materials can be turned in at the Welcome Center from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. If during that time the student is unavailable, the Welcome Center will be open for the same time for the remainder of the week, as well as the following week.

In order to receive a parking pass for this year, a student must complete a Parking Permit Application on Rockwood’s Parent Pay Online. Parking passes will be distributed on Aug. 17 with senior time slots being from 8:30 a.m. to 10 a.m. while the junior and sophomore time will be from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. The application must be completed prior to the distribution, and students will need to have their driver’s licenses as well as payment if they did not complete it online.

The 2021 Legend will be distributed on Aug. 17. Distribution will occur behind Rooms 137/137A from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. In order to see if a student purchased the yearbook, the list is on lancerfeed.press under the Yearbook Information tab. A few extra books are available for $80 cash only on a first-come, first-served basis.

In addition, the early bird price for the 2022 Legend is available until Oct. 29 only. Students may drop off order forms on Aug. 17. More information is also available at lancerfeed.press/yearbook

Orientation for new 10th, 11th and 12th graders will be on Aug. 20 from 11 a.m. to noon. Only those who are new to the District and Lafayette will attend.

Freshman orientation is on Aug. 19 from 11 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. At their orientation, the Class of 2025 will have their yearbook photos taken, have a tour of the school, get their lockers assigned and walk through their class schedules.

Yearbook photos for the sophomore and junior classes will be on Aug. 20. Sophomore pictures will be from 9-11:30 a.m., and junior pictures will be from 1-3:30 p.m. For 9th-11th Grade students who are unable to attend at those times, make-up pictures will be held before school on Aug. 23.

For seniors who were unable to attend their appointments on Aug. 11, they can reschedule through the Sign Up Genius for a slot on Aug. 17. If they are also unable to attend on that date, seniors can make up their portraits on Aug. 30 before the Late Start day begins from 8- 9:45 a.m. A new Sign-Up Genius link will be sent out after school begins.

Students will retain the same lockers they had in previous years. On Aug. 17 or any other day after that from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., students will be able to go into their grade level office in order to receive the locker number and the combination.

Schedules for the upcoming school year were released on Aug. 11. In order to make a schedule change, students need to complete a schedule change form before school starts on Aug. 23.
