For two years in a row now, the Lancers boys soccer season has ended at the hands of De Smet. Last year they fell in a 1-0 contest. Coincidentally, that is the same way that they lost this year; however, this year the game went to double overtime to be decided. It was a physical match from the start, with three yellow cards being issued to the Lancers within the first half. The boys in black slugged it out to the end, but De Smet managed to score a goal to survive and advance to the next round.

When asked about his final thoughts on the season, senior Jarid Morton said, “It was pretty disappointing going out the way we did. Although, I think I speak for all the seniors when I say it was an enjoyable four years here. The team will be in good hands in the coming years with a lot of new talent coming up.”

Overall, their final record on the year was 13-8. Not as good as the one loss team of last year, but still a winning record. The squad will return 15 players from the roster next year: ten juniors and five sophomores.
