Cross country recently ran sectionals, where the top 30 in the meet qualified for state competition. For the girls, it was senior Meg Nicholson and junior Mollie Rogan, the team’s leaders, who qualified for state. For the boys, it was seniors Austin Hindman and Tommy Laarman, juniors Nassim Oufattole and Nathan Reed and sophomore Harrison Brown.

At the meet itself, the boys came in first yet again, with Hindman leading the charge. The other top finishers were Laarman (fifth), Reed (tenth), Oufattole (12th) and Brown (20th). The boys were dominant, having an average time of 16:57, 23 seconds faster than the next team.

The girls only had Nicholson and Rogan run for Lafayette at Girls Sectionals. Rogan came in ninth with a time of 20:32.24 and Nicholson came in 14th with a time of 20:38.91.

Up next for both teams is state competition. The meet will be held on Nov. 5
