Girls golf ends undefeated, boys swim finishes second at invitational

Weekly Sports Update Sept. 25- Oct. 1

At the Parkway West Dale Shepard Invitational, Lancers run. Senior Jack Robeson placed 2nd while the team placed 3rd overall.

Boys Cross Country

In the Parkway West Dale Shepard Invitational, the Lancers finished 3rd overall. Seniors Dillon Cronin and Jack Robeson both placed in the top 10. Robeson placed 2nd with a time of 16:59.65. They will compete in the Statesman Classic, Oct. 7.

Girls Cross Country

In the Nike XC Twilight Meet, the Lady Lancers finished 24th in the Champions Division. Senior Natalie Barnard placed 6th and is ranked 1st in the long-run honor roll. They will compete in the Statesman Classic, Oct. 7.

Field Hockey

Continuing their winning streak, the Lady Lancers faced Lutheran South, Sept. 25. They won 8-0. Senior Olivia Williams is leading the team with 26 goals. The team played a second game against Rockwood Summit, Sept. 27, and won 4-3 in overtime. In the next week, they will play two away games, Oakville Oct. 3 and Lindbergh Oct. 5.

Girls Golf

Finishing off an undefeated match season, the Lady Lancers defeated Marquette by 12 strokes, Sept. 26. Leading her team to victory once again, junior Addy Surber placed 1st. The team will compete in the Suburban Conference Yellow Pool Tournament Oct. 2.


At an away game against Ladue Sept. 29, the Lancers secured a victory 34-16, bringing their record to 5-1. Their next game will be the Battle of 109 against Eureka, Oct. 6. They won 20-13 last year.

Boys Soccer

Now with a 9-4 record, the Lancers went 1-1. They played Vianney Sept. 26, beating them 2-1. However, they couldn’t pull out a win against Webster Groves Sept. 29. After being deadlocked at 1-1 through regulation, an overtime goal from the Statesmen gave the Lancers their fourth loss of the season. The Lancers have two more games this week, first with a game against Seckman Oct. 3. Their next game will be away in the Battle of 109 against Eureka Oct. 5

Boys Swimming & Diving

The Lancers won their tri-meet versus Francis Howell Central and Webster Groves with a score of 160, Sept. 27. The Lancers swam at the Lindbergh Invitational, Sept. 30. With four 1st place event finishes, the Lancers placed second. Senior Caleb Warner won the 100-meter breaststroke and senior Sam Bolla won the 100-meter butterfly. The two other winning events were in the 200-meter medley relay and the 200-meter freestyle relay. The medley team consisted of ,seniors Bolla, Gregory Shao, Warner and junior Ryan Huang. The freestyle team consisted of seniors Bolla, James Thompson, Shao and Warner. The Lancers will go away to Parkway South Oct. 5. 

Girls Tennis

The Lady Lancers lost once and swept two of their opponents this week. In their only loss of the week, they lost to St. Joseph’s 5-4, Sept. 25. Then they swept Kirkwood and Parkway South, Sept. 26 and 27 respectively. At District Singles and Doubles, Sept. 28-29, senior Amber Yin and junior Maddie Pfeiffer made the District Singles Final, with Yin coming on top. Both players will advance to the State Singles Tournament. Sophomore Mia Yin and freshman Mary Sublette won the District Doubles Final and will be advancing to the State Doubles Tournament. 

Girls Volleyball

The Lady Lancers swept all their opponents this week, again. They swept Oakville Sept. 26, St. Dominic Sept. 27 and Pattonville Sept. 28. The Lady Lancers will play four games this week. They will play Webster Groves Oct. 3 and, their Rockwood rivals, Marquette Oct. 5. Then, Oct. 7, they will play two games, against Francis Howell Central and St. Pius X. 


The Lady Lancers went 4-2 this week. They lost to Lindbergh 4-0 Sept. 25 and won against Kirkwood 15-0 Sept. 27. At the Kewpie Invitational at Hickman, Lancers only lost once, Sept. 29-30. They beat Hickman, Father Tolten, and Jefferson City. However, they lost to Lee’s Summit West 3-2. The Lady Lancers have four games this week. They will face Oakville Oct. 2, Eureka Oct. 3, Webster Groves Oct. 4 and Parkway North Oct. 5.
