Weekly sports update: Feb. 3-Feb. 9

Boys Basketball: On Monday Feb. 3, varsity boys basketball lost to Pattonville 71-57. On Tuesday, Feb. 4, the Lancers lost 64-54 to the Ritenour huskies. The boys then fell to Jennings on Feb. 7, losing 55-51. This upcoming week, the team looks to end their losing streak when they play on Tuesday, Feb. 11, for their Senior Night.

Girls Basketball: On Tuesday, Feb. 4, the Lady Lancers lost 42-37 against Parkway North. The girls varsity team lost 48-38 to Westminster on Thursday, Feb 6. The team plays a home game against Parkway South this week, on Tuesday, Feb. 11 for the Lady Lancer’s senior night.

Girls Swimming and Diving: On Thursday, Feb. 6, the the girls swimming and diving team participated in the Yellow Pool Suburban Conference Meet, and ended with a 3rd place finish overall. Paige Daws, Sarah Higgins, Grace Tyson and Claire Vanbiljon swam the 200 medley relay, placing 3rd. Claire Vanbiljon swam the 100 free with a first place finish, and also swam the 50 free and placed 2nd. Paige Daws competed in the 100 Breaststroke and finished in second. The girls swimming team competes in the Yellow Pool Suburban Conference finals this upcoming week.

Girls Wrestling: On Feb. 8, the girls wrestling team participated in the Missouri District 1 tournament, ending with a 2nd place finish. Sophomore Seraphina Blackmon and junior Josette Partney placed second in their individual weight classes, and sophomore Faith Cole and senior Emma Cole were crowned District Champions in their weight class.

Ice Hockey: The hockey team played Rockwood Summit on Feb. 3, losing 6-2. On Feb. 7, the Lancers played the Marquette Mustangs, finishing with a big 7-2 win. The hockey team plays Marquette again on Monday, Feb 10. If they win, they’ll advance to the next round in playoffs for the Challenge Cup.
