Before the school year is over, students are encouraged to return any materials to the school they received either this year or in years prior. Although the material return process was different last year, this year marks a return to the traditional method for in-person learners.
In-person students must bring materials back to their respective teachers.
“[The administration] sent out information to teachers that students can begin to return materials starting on May 24,” Assistant Principal Colleen Fields said.
For virtual students, dates have been set aside to allow them to return any materials they have.
“We have June 1, 2 and 3 for virtual students to return materials at the Welcome Center. Teachers should be communicating with virtual students starting May 24 about material return,” Fields said.
Virtual students can come up to the Welcome Center on June 1-2 between the hours of 8 a.m.-4 p.m. and on June 3 between the hours of 8 a.m.-Noon and 2-4 p.m. However, if a virtual student is able to return materials before June 3, they are encouraged to do so. Materials returned early also may be dropped off at the Welcome Center.
For seniors, the material return process, mainly regarding the return of Chromebooks and chargers, works slightly differently than the process for other grade levels, who will keep their Chromebooks over the summer.
“On May 27, at 2:45 p.m., seniors on the upper floor will come to the Commons and return their Chromebooks and chargers. At 2:55 p.m., seniors on the lower floor will come to the Commons and also return their Chromebooks and chargers. Virtual students can come up on the same day [May 27] between 3:30-4:30 p.m. to return their Chromebooks and chargers. If any senior has any other materials they did not return, they can return them during graduation practice on May 28,” Assistant Principal Mandy Lewis said.
