Due to various tragedies that have recently affected the Lafayette community, teachers, counselors and building and district administrators have altered the policy for students’ 5th Hour Final Exam which was scheduled for Jan. 6.

“We want to offer the option for students to only take the scheduled 5th hour final tomorrow [Jan. 6] if they want to improve their grade,” Principal Karen Calcaterra said in an email sent out to students, parents and staff.

School counselors, social workers and therapists are available for students all day on Jan. 6.

“We want to make sure that we take care of the students and staff who will need support tomorrow [Jan. 6],” Calcaterra said.
