Girls Swimming dives into upcoming season

Girls swimming is looking to repeat as State champions in the 2017-2018 season.

Last year, girls swimming placed first in State, and sophomore Paige Daws was one of the many girls who got to experience this achievement.

Her greatest memory from State was when she was watching the 100-yard freestyle relay place first, winning the Lady Lancers the championship by three points.

“It was an amazing experience, and I’ve never been so proud to be part of a team,” Daws said.

Daws also had a few accomplishments of her own.

“I was really proud of how I swam at our Conference Meet, getting my State cuts in the 200-meter and 100-meter breaststroke,” Daws said.

This season, she is looking forward to the meets with her teammates and making more memories to add on to last year.

With a new season comes new goals; Daws personal goal this year is to make finals at State in the 100-meter breaststroke, and her team’s goal is to repeat as State champions.
